About our foodbank
The Abergele Foodbank is a project delivered by Abergele Community Action Ltd.
Abergele Community Action is a charity which serves Abergele and the wider community. We are affiliated to the Trussell Trust, a national network of foodbanks since we opened in 2013, we began our journey in ITACA in Abergele but in November 2021 we re located to Station Buildings at Abergele and Pensarn Station, Pensarn, Conwy LL22 7PQ.
We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why our foodbank allows you to come to our supermarket experience, working through our shopping list for you to pick the foods you like. However, we are more than just food. We also support local people who are referred to us in crisis, through our own financial services, and signposting to other organisations.
We collect tinned and dried food, toiletries, hygiene products and pet food by generous public donation from:
- Permanent supermarket collection points situated in Tesco in Abergele and ASDA in Kinmel Bay.
- Church Collections
- Local independent businesses
- Walk-in donations by individual members of the public,
- Financial donations are also received, which help us to buy in extra food when stores run low.
